Generally seems like good advice. I read it pretty quickly, and am now going through it again more thoroughly. I was put off by the statements that, to be well informed, one must listen to NPR or read The Daily Beast. While the author does talk about being careful about how you handle politics or religion, it struck me as odd that she would recommend two pretty far left sources of information in order to be "well informed".Product details

This is amazingly good! Lisa Johnson Mandell has loaded this practical guide with honesty and humor. She shares her life experiences and her acquired knowledge in a way that is fun and accessible. Right now, I am looking for the Man of My Dreams, and I want one who is as perfect for me as the author's husband is for her! Also, it doesn't take a millionaire to appreciate the types of sophistication and character that this book is designed to cultivate in its readers. So, even if affluence is not as important to you as poise and presence, you will find this book very helpful.
This thing's some kinda treasure map -- where's the version for men?
A how-to for marrying up -- if I didn't feel like such a target, I'd love it! The author writes with first-person expertise and this is like a complete guide to end-running the recession. What's nice is the lack of smarmy-ness that you'd expect. Instead, you get practical info and a plan of action. Typical in the Get What You Want chapter "Just how much crap, if any, am I willing to put up with for the benefit of his money?" Funny (in my case, that would be a lotta crap...)! And there are cool links -- to custom women's pages on pinterest, the ultimate scrapbook site, with gorgeous dresses and sky-heels that I CANNOT WEAR -- where's the GUY page? OK, I get it -- very cool book. Watch yer back, guys...
How to Snare a Millionaire Now, would appear at first, to be a bit, shall we say, "shallow?" But after reading this book, laughing and nodding in agreement, this book makes perfect sense. What I loved is the confidence and assurance that this writer offers. The inspiring tale of " what if?" instead of " oh well!" I find the book has practical offerings of wisdom in the fact it is not just about capturing a man who can take care of you.
This book has advice on being okay with the gifts one has. I loved the prose, the dialog and the personal story of Lisa Mandell. She is kind, she is assuring and she is inspiring. How we honor ourselves as women in todays world, I find captures the inner warrior we all need to be for each other. The spirit of this book is helpfulness. Lisa is a great cheerleader. We all need that at times. I am recommending it to several friends without any shame about the title. We all deserve to be honored and adored, and yes, taken care of. Thanks Lisa Johnson Mandell for putting "it" out there for all to see.
This little book is packed with all the information a woman needs to find and develop a romantic relationship with a special man, regardless of whether he's a millionaire. As a woman who's devoted more effort to her career than romance, the helpful hints about how to get ready to draw love into your life and the conversation tips for being more open to becoming a 'we' rather than 'me' were very helpful.
Lisa is right with you in your search for love, offering steps for how to gracefully steer the relationship toward commitment. From where to find your millionaire, to the first date, to the proposal. And, she isn't shy about sharing personal stories about her journey to true love with her millionaire mate.
This book is a terrific great primer for anyone who is getting back into the swing of dating. You'll learn fun tips for better developing better social skills as well as what to expect, and how to find the man of your dreams. Contrary to what you might think by the title, this book actually tells you how to NOT be perceived as a gold digger, and how you can become the golden prize that a successful man would want to strive to achieve.
Loved it, some great commonsense ideas of how to hold your dignity when dealing with dating!

I read this book in two days. Its quite informative and I am very excited to start follow her advise. I have been surprised to know that its actually possible to snare a millionaire ! all you need to do , its to be very disciplined..... and follow the little secrets from the pro.
The title of this book is tongue-in-cheek. As stated above, it's really a book about where to meet classy men and how to date them. I still have the original 1995 print edition of this book, and it's fun to have the new, improved edition. I actually know the author, and the millionaires she talks about in the book are all real people (with the names changed to protect the innocent). Lisa gives great advice. I also highly recommend her book "Career Comeback" for those of you trying to get back in the job market. Lisa is an excellent writer, and both books are written from Lisa's wealth of personal experience in both areas.
